What`s On at Llantwit Major R.F.C. Mini and Juniors
With the rugby season not very far away it is time to get your child registered with Llantwit Major R.F.C. Mini and Junior Section. The section has teams for boys and girls ranging from Under8-16 years inclusive. During the Summer months ,Director of Rugby ,Tim Jones ,has been taking sessions for Llantwit`s `Rugby Tots`. These are fun activities for 2-6 year old children. They have proved to be very successful with over 25 children taking part. Rugby Tots will resume once again at the start of the season. More details will follow shortly.
The Section has a professional and dedicated team of volunteers. All coaches are W.R.U. qualified and C.R.B. checked. Each age group has a Team Manager, who looks after the administration. What does the Section offer? Registration is currently taking place every Wednesday 6-7 at the Rugby Club throughout July and August. Registration fee is currently £15.00 but will increase to £20.00 from September. All children re-registering will require the registration fee. New players [including existing Under12`s] will need three passport photographs and the registration fee. All children who register will then receive a free training and warm up top to keep. Each player will then receive a match day shirt for the season to be returned on Presentation Day.
Players of all age groups will play games against teams from the Cardiff and Vale District and Bridgend District. We operate an enjoyment ethos before winning. Under 8`s will have the opportunity to play on the Cardiff Blues Stadium during half time. All age groups up to Under11`s will have the chance to play half time tag games at Parc Y Scarlets. We also have visits from Blues players to take coaching sessions, who are also invited to our Annual Presentation Day. Off the field we also provide Christmas Activities for the children such as a Party at the Club for Under8, 9`s. Under10-Under 13 have a pool party and the older groups have a trip to a local theme park. We also organise end of season tours for all age groups and they have opportunities to take part in District Tournaments.
At present we are organising our own tournament for Under8-11`s which is to take place on Sunday 5th September. Teams from the Blues Region are invited. This tournament has been kindly sponsored by Sinclair Direct. Throughout the season we have a calendar of events for
